Emerus is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Room at our 16-bed small-format hospital in Aubrey. This PRN day shift position (7am-7pm) offers the opportunity to provide emergency nursing care in a fully accredited facility with an 8-bed emergency department and 8-bed inpatient unit.
Clinical Setting
You will work in a small-format hospital emergency room designed to provide highly individualized patient care in a community-based setting. The facility is fully accredited and operates as part of Emerus' network of innovative hospitals partnered with respected health systems.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, direct, and evaluate patient care in the emergency room using advanced specialty clinical nursing knowledge and skills
- Plan, prioritize, and provide proficient, age-specific, and developmentally appropriate nursing care while ensuring patient and family comfort and safety
- Observe and record signs, symptoms, behaviors, and physiological status of patients
- Complete accurate, concise, and legible documentation on medical records
- Present proposed revisions of interventions and desired outcomes
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality of information and records
- Follow physician orders in the delivery of nursing care
- Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with established policies, procedures, COLA, and CLIA regulations
- Adhere to required infection control, isolation procedures, and aseptic techniques
- Perform admission, discharge, and transfer procedures
- Assemble equipment and supplies for diagnostic or treatment procedures; perform or assist with procedures and treatments in accordance with legal, hospital, departmental policies, and established standards of nursing care
- Participate in quality assessment activities and document as assigned
- Attend staff meetings and company-sponsored or mandated meetings as required
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse without sanctions
- 2 or more years of full-time RN experience in the emergency room or comparable experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Fluency in English with proficiency in written and oral communication
- Pennsylvania Candidates: Act 33 (Child Abuse History Clearance) and Act 73 (FBI Fingerprint Criminal History Clearance) completed within the last 5 years, or must be obtained prior to start date
