Job Description

Huntley School District 158 is seeking an Elementary School Nurse to coordinate a comprehensive school health program and deliver health services to students and staff members. This position supports the health and wellness of the school community while maintaining professional standards of school nurse practice in accordance with district and state policies and Illinois nursing law.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver comprehensive school health services to students and staff
  • Enhance health and wellness initiatives across the school community
  • Perform duties in accordance with professional school nurse practice standards
  • Comply with district and state board of education policies and procedures
  • Adhere to Illinois state law regarding nursing practice

Clinical Setting

Elementary school environment with student and staff populations.

Schedule

  • Full-time position
  • 10-month work year
  • Start date: September 2026
  • Location: To be determined

Required Qualifications

  • Illinois Professional Educators License with School Nurse endorsement, OR
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Illinois with state-approved IEP designation
  • Current CPR program completion

Preferred Qualifications

  • Illinois Certification as a Vision and Hearing Screening technician
  • Prior professional nursing experience, preferably in pediatric, adolescent, community, or mental health nursing
  • Health program management experience
  • Computer literacy and competency with existing technology

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly rate: $31.21 - $32.46
  • HESPA classification
