Pure Life Renal is seeking a Dialysis Patient Care Technician on a per diem basis to deliver direct patient care and technical support in a dialysis treatment facility. Working under the supervision of a licensed professional nurse, you will perform the technical aspects of dialysis procedures, monitor patient treatments, operate dialysis equipment, and respond to patient needs and emergencies.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for assigned patients
- Perform all technical aspects of dialysis procedures as prescribed by physician orders and nursing assessment
- Administer and monitor dialysis treatments in accordance with current treatment orders or supervisor direction
- Monitor and document dialysis treatment notes in the electronic medical record per facility policy
- Report any significant changes in patient condition, equipment problems, or other important information to nursing staff
- Assist with all emergency operational procedures and initiate basic CPR measures in the event of cardiac or pulmonary arrest
- Proficiently operate all dialysis-related equipment according to policy and procedure
- Provide minor equipment troubleshooting when necessary
- Ensure the dialysis facility treatment area remains clean, safe, and sanitary
- Operate all emergency equipment effectively and according to policy and procedure
- Participate in staff meetings and scheduled in-service classes and continuing education
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Current CPR certification
- Pass the Ishihara Color Blindness test as a condition of employment
- Hemodialysis technician certification from a nationally accepted certification exam within 18 months of hire (Pure Life Renal prefers certification within 12 months and will assist with obtaining this certification)
- Good verbal and written communication skills

- Prior dialysis experience
