CRNA, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, Surgery Center

CHRISTUS Health - Shreveport is seeking a full-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to provide anesthesia services in a surgery center setting. This position offers a stable schedule with no on-call duties and no weekend work, working 40 hours per week across four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 5 PM.

As a CRNA, you will have responsibility and accountability for providing advanced nurse practice while administering anesthesia to surgical patients under a delegating physician. The Medical Director maintains overall responsibility and accountability for anesthesia services.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients preoperatively, perform patient history and physical examination, and review patient records to determine health status
• Review results of diagnostic tests, treatments, and orders as appropriate
• Provide patient and family education
• Administer general, regional, local, and moderate sedation anesthesia
• Perform venipuncture and draw venous and arterial blood
• Place intravenous catheters and administer fluids, muscle relaxants, vasoactive drugs, and cardiac drugs
• Manage mechanical ventilation and perform resuscitation techniques
• Monitor patients perioperatively and round on patients as requested
• Manage hypertensive care and hypothermia
• Ensure safe medication administration and demonstrate knowledge of drug actions, side effects, and contraindications
• Adhere to medication policies, practices, and standards
• Participate in time-out procedures and ensure patient safety protocols
• Maintain infection control and safety standards, including standard precautions and disease-specific isolation
• Handle and dispose of unused medications appropriately
• Maintain clean work areas and care for equipment at completion of cases
• Obtain training prior to initial use of equipment and ensure equipment is working properly
• Respect and maintain patient and family rights and privacy

Required Qualifications

• Master of Science in Nursing
• APRN license in state of employment
• CRNA certification from NBCRNA
• ACLS certification
• PALS certification
• BLS certification

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 to 3 years of experience

Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• 40 hours per week
• Four 10-hour shifts
• 7 AM to 5 PM
• No on-call duties
• No weekends
