Mercy Health is seeking a Critical Care Transport Registered Nurse (RN) to provide emergency nursing care to patients transported via the Mercy Health Life Flight Network. You will work as part of a two-person critical care transport team, assessing, planning, organizing, documenting, and evaluating patient care across all age groups including neonates, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. This position is based on a ground Mobile Intensive Care Unit with potential progression toward rotor wing flight cross-training if interested and openings become available. You will serve as a professional representative of Mercy Health to the community and assist in promoting St. Vincent Medical Center and St. Rita's Medical Center as regional referral centers.

Schedule

  • 36 scheduled weekly hours
  • Night shift (United States of America)

Responsibilities

  • Provide prompt and efficient emergency nursing care to transported patients
  • Assess, plan, organize, document, and evaluate patient care in conjunction with another Critical Care Transport Care provider
  • Serve as a professional representative of Mercy Health to the community
  • Educate professional groups and emergency medical services
  • Assist in providing care to patients of all age groups

Required Qualifications

  • Current active Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio
  • 3 years of professional nursing experience in critical care with at least 1 year of emergency care experience
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • CAMTS approved advanced certification (CFRN or CTRN) required or obtained within 18 months of hire
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) and International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) required or obtained within 6 months of hire
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 6 months of hire
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required within 6 months of hire
  • FEMA 100, 200, and 700 certifications required within 6 months of hire
  • Emergency Vehicle Operations Certification required within 6 months of hire
  • Analytical abilities, sound nursing knowledge, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills with patients, physicians, and hospital personnel
  • Demonstrated leadership skills for professional and community education programs
  • 16-week minimum orientation period to acquire familiarity with department and unit policies and procedures

Education

  • Minimum: 2-year Associate's Degree in Nursing
  • Preferred: 4-year Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
