Mercy Health Life Flight Network seeks a Critical Care Transport Registered Nurse to provide emergency nursing care to patients transported via ground and rotor wing aircraft. You will assess, plan, organize, document, and evaluate patient care in conjunction with another Critical Care Transport Care provider, serving patients across all age groups including neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatric populations. This role offers progression from a ground Mobile Intensive Care Unit base toward rotor wing flight cross-training if interested and openings become available.
Responsibilities
- Provide emergency nursing care in a prompt and efficient manner to all transported patients
- Assess, plan, organize, document, and evaluate patient care in conjunction with another Critical Care Transport Care provider
- Serve as a professional representative of Bon Secours Mercy Health to the community
- Educate professional groups and emergency medical services
- Promote Mercy Health - St. Vincent Medical Center and Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center as regional referral centers
- Assist in the provision of care to patients of all age groups
Required Qualifications
- Current active Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio
- 3 years of professional nursing experience in critical care with at least 1 year of emergency care experience
- CAMTS approved advanced certification (CFRN or CTRN) required or obtained within 18 months of hire
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
- TNCC and ITLS required or obtained within 6 months of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 6 months of hire
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required within 6 months of hire
- FEMA 100, 200, and 700 required within 6 months of hire
- Emergency Vehicle Operations Certification required within 6 months of hire
- Analytical abilities and sound nursing knowledge
- Problem-solving skills for effective formulation and implementation of patient care plans
- Ability to document pertinent patient information appropriately
- Effective communication skills with patients, physicians, and hospital personnel
- Demonstrated leadership skills to participate in professional and community education programs
- Ability to maintain good public relations for the institution
Preferred Qualifications
- 4-year bachelor's degree in nursing

Education
- Minimum: 2-year Associate's Degree in Nursing
- Preferred: 4-year Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Schedule and Orientation
- Scheduled weekly hours: 36
- Work shifts: All work shifts (United States of America)
- 16-week minimum orientation required to acquire necessary familiarity with department and unit policies and procedures
