CNA - Pediatric Patient Care Technician

MultiCare Mary Bridge Children's Hospital & Health Network is seeking a Pediatric Patient Care Technician (CNA) to support exceptional patient health outcomes in a comprehensive pediatric healthcare setting. As the state-designated Level II Pediatric Trauma Center and the only pediatric hospital in Washington's South Sound, Mary Bridge provides specialized care for children and adolescents across inpatient, outpatient, and specialty services.

In this role, you will perform a dynamic range of duties throughout the hospital, including basic nursing care, patient transportation, and clerical functions. You will work collaboratively with registered nurses and healthcare practitioners to deliver quality, age-appropriate care to patients from diverse ethnic and social backgrounds.

Clinical Setting

Mary Bridge Children's Hospital is an 82-bed pediatric hospital in Tacoma featuring a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a 24-hour pediatric-only Emergency Department, and a state-designated Level II Pediatric Trauma Center. The hospital has been recognized as a Top Children's Hospital by The Leapfrog Group six times in the past eight years.

Responsibilities

• Perform a dynamic range of duties and functions throughout the hospital
• Assist in basic nursing care, transportation of patients, and clerical functions
• Apply strong interpersonal skills when providing care for patients across diverse ethnic and social groups
• Collaborate with healthcare practitioners and registered nurses for comprehensive quality care

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Nursing Assistant Certification or Licensure
• Medical Assistant-Registered (MA-R) Certification Eligible
• Current BLS Certification
• Recent bedside care experience in a healthcare environment

Certification Requirements

• Medical Assistant-Registered Certification must be obtained within 60 days of hire (application required within 7 days of hire)
• MA-P credential may be accepted in lieu of MA-R

Schedule

• FTE: 0.9
• Shift: Day shift, 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends

Compensation and Bonus

• Pay range: $23.61 - $39.01 USD
• Pay is influenced by skill set, level of experience, and certifications/education
• Up to $5,000 sign-on bonus for eligible new hires with 1 or more years of experience as a CNA
• If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will reflect the appropriate step on the pay scale based on years of experience
