UW Medical Center-Montlake is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the 4SE Cardiology/Med-Surg unit. This per diem position offers variable shifts with no set schedule, providing flexibility for healthcare professionals seeking supplemental or primary employment in an acute care academic medical center.

Clinical Setting

UW Medical Center-Montlake is located in Seattle on the edge of the University of Washington campus. The facility is the No. 1 hospital in Seattle and Washington State since 2012 (U.S. News & World Report) and is nationally ranked in seven specialties. The Montlake campus offers convenient public transit access, including a Sound Transit light rail station across the street.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct and indirect patient care under the general supervision of the Registered Nurse
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, showering, dressing, getting in and out of bed or a chair, walking, using the toilet, and eating
  • Maintain a safe environment of care
  • Transport patients and equipment and supplies
  • Prepare patients for surgery
  • Perform non-invasive lab procedures
  • Assist with treatments
  • Take vital signs
  • Perform various clerical tasks

Required Qualifications

  • Current, valid Certified Nursing Assistant (NAC) certification with Washington State (include your NA-C credential number on your resume)
  • High school graduation and six months of experience involving direct patient care or customer service in a healthcare setting, or equivalent education and experience
  • Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider CPR card by start date

Schedule and Employment

  • Per diem position with variable shifts and no set schedule

Compensation and Shift Premiums

  • Pay range: $28.83 to $41.27 hourly
  • Night shift premium: $2.25 per hour
  • Evening shift premium: $1.50 per hour
  • Weekend shift premium: $1.50 per hour
