Join Good Samaritan's not-for-profit senior care organization as a Certified Nursing Assistant at our Bismarck facility. This part-time evening position offers 24 hours per week providing direct resident care in a long-term care setting.
You will serve as a caregiver to residents, delivering resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will work as a member of the nursing team, following infection prevention and control policies and proper Personal Protective Equipment use.
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance with basic health care needs including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing and undressing
- Obtain and record vital signs
- Provide psychosocial support and personal care to assigned residents
- Assist residents with transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct transfer techniques and equipment
- Provide range of motion and passive exercises
- Assist with food preparation and dining, creating a positive dining experience
- Assist residents with meals and snacks, provide water and supplements as appropriate
- Aid providers and nursing staff with procedures as needed
- Document resident interactions and outcomes related to care, behavior, activity, and dietary intake
- Communicate residents' changing conditions and care-related concerns to the charge nurse
- Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens
- Provide housekeeping and laundry services to maintain clean living areas
- Assist with and document wellness and recreational programs, encouraging resident participation
- Participate in departmental or organizational committees and task forces as needed
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 16
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of hire date by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through endorsement
- Satisfactory completion of yearly department-specific competency testing
- Maintenance of a record of continuing education credits, with a minimum of 12 hours required annually
- Maintenance of all department-specific required certifications
- When applicable for the state, certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry
- Depending on facility requirements, may need to be a Sanford Category II Driver with a valid driver's license and medical qualification to perform essential driving functions

- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care

Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $19.50 to $25.50 per hour
