St. Luke's Village in Kearney, Nebraska is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide resident-centered care in a long-term care setting. This part-time evening position offers 20 hours per week and serves seniors in a not-for-profit organization with over 100 years of experience providing housing and services to older adults.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct resident care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse
- Assist residents with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and undressing
- Obtain and record vital signs
- Assist residents with transferring, repositioning, and walking using proper transfer techniques and equipment
- Provide range of motion and passive exercises
- Assist with meals and snacks, provide water and supplements, and create a positive dining experience
- Provide psychosocial support and personal care to assigned residents
- Aid nursing staff and providers with procedures as needed
- Document resident interactions, care outcomes, behavior, activity, and dietary information
- Communicate residents' changing conditions and care-related concerns to the charge nurse
- Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens
- Provide housekeeping and laundry services to maintain clean living areas
- Assist with and document wellness and recreational programs, encouraging resident participation
- Follow all infection prevention and control policies and Personal Protective Equipment use requirements
- Participate in departmental or organizational committees and task forces as needed
Schedule
- Part-time, 20 hours per week
- Evening shifts, 8 hours per shift
- Location: 2201 E 32nd St, Kearney, NE 68847
Compensation and Bonuses
- Salary range: $18.00 to $25.50 per hour
- $4,000 sign-on bonus available
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 16
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of hire date by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through endorsement
- CNA training and certification provided by facility
- Satisfactory completion of yearly department-specific competency testing
- Maintenance of continuing education credits, with a minimum of 12 hours required annually
- Maintenance of all department-specific required certifications
- When applicable for the state, certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry
- Depending on facility requirements, may require a valid driver's license, motor vehicle report, and medical qualification to perform essential driving functions per Sanford Driving Policy
Preferred Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED)
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care
Conditions of Employment
- Drug-free workplace policy; accepted offer requires drug screen and pre-employment background screening
- Position may classify as a Sanford Category II Driver requiring motor vehicle report and proof of valid driver's license, depending on facility and required responsibilities
