CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant - PRN - SNF - - Pohai Nani

Good Samaritan Society – Pohai Nani is a 44-bed, 5-star rated skilled nursing facility in Kaneohe, Hawaii specializing in post-acute rehabilitation services, long-term care, and outpatient therapy programs. We are seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide resident-centered care and support to our patients under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care assistance including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and undressing
• Obtain and record vital signs
• Assist residents with transfers, repositioning, and walking using correct transfer techniques and equipment
• Provide range of motion and passive exercises
• Assist with meals and snacks, provide water and supplements, and create a positive dining experience
• Support residents with food preparation and dining activities
• Provide psychosocial support and companionship
• Aid nursing staff and providers with procedures as needed
• Document resident interactions, care outcomes, behavior, activity, and dietary information
• Communicate residents' changing conditions and care-related concerns to the charge nurse
• Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens
• Provide housekeeping and laundry services to maintain clean living areas
• Assist with and document wellness and recreational programs, encouraging resident participation
• Participate in departmental committees and task forces as needed

Clinical Setting

This is a skilled nursing facility providing post-acute rehabilitation, long-term care, and outpatient therapy services to seniors.

Schedule

• PRN (as needed) position
• 8-hour shifts with varied shift times
• Weekly hours vary
• Weekend differential available
• Shift differential available after 6pm

Required Qualifications

• Minimum age 16
• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of hire date by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through endorsement
• CNA training and certification required and provided by facility
• Satisfactory completion of yearly department-specific competency testing
• Maintenance of continuing education credits with a minimum of 12 hours required annually
• Maintenance of all department-specific required certifications
• When applicable, certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry
• May require a valid driver's license and motor vehicle report depending on facility needs and assigned responsibilities (Sanford Category II Driver classification)
• Must be medically qualified to perform essential driving functions if applicable per Sanford Driving Policy

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary range: $20.50 - $30.75 per hour
• $500 sign-on bonus eligible
• Weekend differential available
• Shift differential available after 6pm
