Good Samaritan Society NE Alma is seeking a full-time Certified Nursing Assistant for straight night shifts in our long-term care facility. As a CNA, you will provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse, working in a not-for-profit organization committed to quality care and service for seniors.
Clinical Setting
This position is based at GSS NE Alma, a long-term care facility located at 719 Brown St, Alma, NE 68920.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct resident care including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing and undressing
- Obtain and record vital signs
- Assist residents with transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct transfer techniques and equipment
- Provide range of motion and passive exercises
- Assist with meals and snacks, provide water and supplements, and create a positive dining experience
- Provide psychosocial support and personal care to assigned residents
- Aid providers and nursing staff with procedures as needed
- Document resident interactions, care outcomes, behavior, activity, and dietary information
- Communicate residents' changing conditions and care-related concerns to the charge nurse
- Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens
- Provide housekeeping and laundry services to maintain clean living areas
- Assist with and document wellness and recreational programs, encouraging resident participation
- Follow infection prevention and control policies and proper Personal Protective Equipment use
- Participate in departmental and organizational committees and task forces as needed
Schedule
- 12-hour night shifts
- Full-time position
- 40 hours per week
- Shift differentials: Monday-Thursday $2.50, Friday-Sunday $3.75
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age 16
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of hire date by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through endorsement
- CNA training and certification provided by facility
- Satisfactory completion of yearly department-specific competency testing
- Maintenance of continuing education credits; minimum 12 hours annually required
- Maintenance of all department-specific required certifications
- When applicable for the state, certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry
- Depending on facility requirements, may require valid driver's license and motor vehicle report as a Sanford Category II Driver, with medical qualification to perform essential driving functions per Sanford Driving Policy
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care
Compensation
- Salary range: $17.00 - $25.50 per hour
- $5,000 sign-on bonus
- Shift differentials as noted above
