CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant - FT - Days - St. Vincent's

Join Good Samaritan's not-for-profit organization as a Certified Nursing Assistant at our Bismarck facility, where you'll provide compassionate, resident-centered care in a long-term care setting. This full-time day shift position offers the opportunity to work as part of a caring nursing team while supporting seniors with their daily living needs and health care requirements.

Clinical Setting

GSS ND Bis St Vincent Care Ctr is a long-term care facility located at 1021 N 26th St, Bismarck, ND 58501. The organization has provided over 100 years of housing and services to seniors with a commitment to quality care in a Christian environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse
• Assist residents with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing and undressing
• Obtain and record vital signs
• Provide psychosocial support and personal care to assigned residents
• Assist residents with transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct transfer techniques and equipment
• Provide range of motion and passive exercises
• Assist with food preparation and dining, creating a positive dining experience
• Assist residents with meals, snacks, water, and supplements as appropriate
• Aid providers and nursing staff with procedures as needed
• Document resident interactions, outcomes related to care, behavior, activity, and dietary information
• Communicate residents' changing conditions and care-related concerns to the charge nurse
• Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens
• Provide housekeeping and laundry services to maintain clean living areas
• Assist with and document wellness and recreational programs, encouraging resident participation
• Follow infection prevention and control policies and proper Personal Protective Equipment use
• Participate in departmental and organizational committees and task forces as needed

Schedule

• Full-time position
• Day shifts, 8 hours per shift
• 32 hours per week
• Night, weekend, and pick-up shift differentials available

Compensation and Bonuses

• Salary range: $19.50 to $25.50 per hour
• Sign-on bonus of $2,500 may be available for this position
• Direct access to your earnings daily

Required Qualifications

• Minimum age of 16
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of hire date by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through endorsement
• CNA training and certification required and provided by facility
• Satisfactory completion of yearly department-specific competency testing
• Maintenance of a record of continuing education credits, with a minimum of 12 hours required annually
• Maintenance of all department-specific required certifications
• When applicable for the state, certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry
• Depending on facility requirements, this role may classify as a Sanford Category II Driver, requiring a motor vehicle report, proof of valid driver's license, and medical qualification to perform essential driving functions per Sanford Driving Policy

Preferred Qualifications

• High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED)
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care
