CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant - FT - Days

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide compassionate resident-centered care in a long-term care setting. As a CNA, you will work under the supervision of a registered nurse to support residents with daily living activities and basic health care needs while maintaining infection prevention and control standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and undressing
• Obtain and record vital signs
• Provide psychosocial support and personal care to assigned residents
• Assist residents with transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct transfer techniques and equipment
• Perform range of motion and passive exercises
• Support food preparation and dining activities, creating a positive dining experience
• Assist residents with meals, snacks, water, and supplements as appropriate
• Aid providers and nursing staff with procedures as needed
• Document resident interactions, outcomes related to care, behavior, activity, and dietary information
• Communicate residents' changing conditions and care-related concerns to the charge nurse
• Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens
• Provide housekeeping and laundry services to maintain clean living areas
• Assist with and document wellness and recreational programs, encouraging resident participation
• Participate in departmental and organizational committees and task forces as needed

Schedule

• Full-time position
• Day shift
• 36 scheduled weekly hours

Compensation

• Salary range: $17.00 - $25.50 per hour

Required Qualifications

• Minimum age of 16
• High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of hire date by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through endorsement
• CNA training and certification required and provided by facility
• Satisfactory completion of yearly department-specific competency testing
• Maintenance of continuing education credits, with a minimum of 12 hours required annually
• Maintenance of all department-specific required certifications
• When applicable for your state, certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry
• Depending on facility and required responsibilities, this role may classify as a Sanford Category II Driver, requiring a motor vehicle report, proof of valid driver's license, and medical qualification to perform essential driving functions per Sanford Driving Policy
