CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) 12-Hour Shifts Days and Overnights

BrightStar Care is seeking Certified Nursing Assistants for home care positions providing direct patient support under the supervision of a registered nurse. This role focuses on delivering personal care services to clients in their homes, with flexibility to work full-time or part-time hours across day and overnight shifts.

Clinical Setting

Home-based care with one-to-one patient care delivery. Over 95% of BrightStar locations are Joint Commission accredited or in process.

Responsibilities

• Provide hygiene care including bathing, grooming, oral care, dressing, undressing, toileting, feeding, and meal preparation
• Perform linen changes and light housekeeping as directed
• Take and record vital signs, height, and weight as necessary
• Assist clients with active and passive range of motion exercises as defined by the plan of care
• Document observed changes and report them to the Director of Nursing
• Assist clients with walking, transportation to medical appointments, outdoor activities, and shopping
• Develop and promote a safe environment through adherence to established policies, procedures, and standards
• Ensure client rights are maintained and upheld

Schedule and Shifts

• 12-hour shifts available
• 7pm-7am overnight shifts and 7pm-7am day shifts available daily
• Work as many or as few hours as desired
• Weekend and evening opportunities available

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Successful completion of a nursing assistant program
• Current CNA certification
• Minimum one year of documented caregiving experience
• Minimum one year of experience working with patients with Alzheimer's disease or dementia
• Current CPR certification
• Negative TB skin test or chest X-ray
• Physical examination clearance for CNA-type work
• Reliable transportation to Downtown Chicago
• Ability to maintain HIPAA compliance and client confidentiality
