Clinician (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Certified Nurse Midwife)

Planned Parenthood of Tennessee and North Mississippi seeks a Clinician (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Certified Nurse Midwife) to deliver comprehensive reproductive healthcare at health centers in Memphis, Nashville, and Knoxville. You will provide patient-centered clinical services including health assessments, physical exams, contraceptive counseling, preventive care, and diagnostic studies in accordance with Planned Parenthood Federation of America guidelines and state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough health assessments including obstetric, gynecologic, contraceptive, medical, surgical, and psychosocial histories
• Perform physical exams with focus on reproductive health, including breast and pelvic exams, cancer screenings, and STI diagnosis
• Provide counseling and education on contraception, fertility, sexual health, and overall wellness
• Conduct and interpret diagnostic studies, lab tests, and ultrasounds per medical guidelines
• See approximately 30-35 patients per day with a combination of scheduled appointments (10-15 minute increments) and walk-ins
• Ensure patient care aligns with medical standards and guidelines and affiliate protocols to meet accreditation standards
• Respond to after-hours patient calls as part of the on-call team
• Mentor and lead healthcare assistants during clinical procedures
• Participate in training, protocol updates, and implementation of new clinical programs
• Work with the Chief Clinical Officer, Lead Clinician, and Medical Director to enhance services and patient outcomes
• Support efforts to maintain high patient retention, appointment adherence, and efficient clinic flow
• Participate in quality risk management ensuring patient care aligns with Planned Parenthood Federation of America and local affiliate standards
• Collaborate with community organizations and healthcare agencies to connect patients with additional resources
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Assist in surgical clinic support roles when needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) or equivalent education in Physician Assistant or Nurse Midwifery programs
• Active and unrestricted Tennessee Nursing License
• National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Certified Nurse Midwife
• CPR Certification; BLS
• DEA Licensure

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of three years experience as a Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Nurse Midwife
• Previous experience as a Nurse Practitioner or related role
• ACLS certification
• Strong patient assessment and diagnostic skills, including ultrasound interpretation

Special Conditions for New Graduates

If you are a new graduate applying for a role in Nashville or Knoxville, you will be required to commit to six months of training at the main Health Center in Memphis and pass your probationary and training period before transitioning to your location of choice.

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive Salary: $95,000-$110,000 commensurate with experience, with a pay-for-performance bonus opportunity
