Clinical Staff Leader, Registered Nurse, Med/Surg, Full -Time Days, Clarksville

Vanderbilt Health is seeking a Clinical Staff Leader, Registered Nurse for the Med/Surg unit in Clarksville. This full-time day position provides clinical leadership and supervision within a cardiac catheterization laboratory setting, overseeing the delivery of safe and effective patient care while supporting staff development and maintaining quality standards.

Clinical Setting

You will work within the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory as part of Vanderbilt Health's comprehensive academic health system, which operates eight hospitals and over 180 clinics across the Mid-South region.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical consultation and support to Cath Lab staff, overseeing clinical quality efforts including audits of protocols and surgical processes
• Collaborate with the Cath Lab Manager/Director to maintain quality care standards as required by departmental protocols and regulatory agencies
• Ensure availability and readiness of supplies, equipment, and stock; address equipment needs, failures, or inventory issues to minimize disruptions in patient care
• Support professional development of staff by identifying learning needs, collaborating with the preceptor team and clinical educator, and assisting with orientation and ongoing training
• Assist primary physicians in performing procedures, preparing equipment, reviewing patient history, and providing first-assist support during procedures
• Ensure complete, accurate, and timely post-procedure data documentation in alignment with Cath Lab and hospital protocols
• Supervise, train, and oversee departmental staff
• Schedule employees to ensure effective use of resources and consult with Manager or Director on staffing issues
• Assist with performance evaluations and goal setting
• Assist in managing departmental budget to ensure cost-effective operations while maintaining high quality service
• Monitor expenditures to ensure cost-effective delivery of services
• Contribute to evaluation and implementation of new technologies to enhance operational efficiency
• Contribute to development of departmental policies, procedures, and protocols
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory bodies
• Participate in audits, inspections, and accreditation processes as applicable
• Follow established quality control practices to ensure accuracy, consistency, and safety
• Work closely with leadership teams to coordinate and improve service delivery
• Stay up-to-date with industry advancements, new technologies, and regulatory changes
• Work in a staff role when required, ensuring that duties and responsibilities are fulfilled while meeting all established competencies

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license
• Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience
• Associate's degree in nursing
