Clinical Research Nurse II | School of Medicine - Pediatrics, Infectious Disease

Join Emory University's School of Medicine as a Clinical Research Nurse II supporting pediatric infectious disease clinical trials. This role coordinates, implements, and evaluates clinical research studies while providing specialized nursing support to pediatric patients and families participating in research protocols.

Clinical Setting

This position is based at an Emory University location and requires in-person work. Remote work is not an option. You will work within the pediatric infectious disease research program at the School of Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, implement, and evaluate clinical research trials, studies, and projects
• Provide direction in the development of research protocols
• Recruit and screen potential study participants
• Develop and conduct patient and family education
• Perform patient evaluations and administer medications and research instruments
• Provide nursing support for specialized diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical procedures
• Oversee financial accounts to ensure operations remain within approved levels
• Collect data, assist in developing data collection systems, and compile reports
• Perform infusion duties as needed
• Assist in writing research grants, publications in medical and nursing literature, study materials, brochures, and correspondence
• Make referrals to in-house or community professionals and serve as a clinical resource
• Provide direction and may supervise other Research Nurses or support staff members
• Perform unblinded study procedures and visits for various clinical trials in pediatric infectious diseases
• Work with potentially hazardous agents and take specific precautions as required; may be required to be immunized against certain agents

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Georgia
• Three years of related nursing experience
• Current RN II credential through Emory Healthcare
