Clinical Educator RN (Operating Room- OR)

Children's Health is seeking a Clinical Educator RN for the Operating Room to join the Clinical Learning and Development Department. This full-time, on-site position supports both the Dallas and Plano campuses and works Monday through Friday.

As a Clinical Educator, you will serve as a professional development specialist responsible for facilitating lifelong learning and professional development activities among clinical staff. You will apply adult learning theory and instructional design principles to create measurable program outcomes across multiple areas of clinical education and staff development.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, manage, facilitate, conduct, and evaluate onboarding and orientation programs for clinical personnel, including transition-to-practice programs for novice or new graduate clinicians
• Develop, coordinate, manage, facilitate, conduct, and evaluate initial and ongoing competency programs for clinical personnel
• Design, implement, and evaluate educational activities and programs based on identified practice gaps for specific target audiences, utilizing knowledge of educational theory and adult learning principles
• Identify and develop strategies to facilitate continuous professional growth through lifelong learning, including role transition, role integration, skill acquisition, and skill mastery
• Integrate best research evidence into didactic and clinical education design; promote and participate in research, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement initiatives in the clinical setting
• Consult, advise, teach, and coordinate with other individuals, groups, departments, and institutions concerning education and learning

Required Qualifications

• At least 3 years of related clinical and/or nursing experience
• Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Active state or national licensure/certification for clinical professional practice (such as RN, RRT, PT/OT)
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements
• PALS, PEARS/PACES, or NRP certification based on specialty area requirements
• If PEARS/PACES is required: New employees must obtain PACES certification within 6 months of hire; existing employees must obtain PACES certification upon expiration of their PEARS certification (no later than April 20, 2022)

Preferred Qualifications

• Documentation of previous teaching experience
• Graduate or professional work or advanced degree
• National specialty certification appropriate for area(s) of responsibility
