Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is seeking an RN Clinical Educator to support the Tower Operating Room, a 24/7 Level 1 Trauma facility serving as the region's only trauma center. This full-time position offers the opportunity to develop and deliver nursing education across a diverse surgical specialty environment.
Clinical Setting
The Tower OR handles complex and routine procedures across multiple specialties including neurosurgery, spine, orthopedics, surgical oncology, urology, plastics, robotics, gynecology, pediatrics, ENT, general surgery, trauma, thoracic, vascular, dental, oral and maxillofacial surgery, colorectal, hepatobiliary, and transplant procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assess the competency of new nursing staff members using system strategies and tools, with focus on quality of care and patient safety goals
- Integrate theoretical knowledge, evidence-based principles, and clinical nursing expertise into educational experiences for both new and experienced team members
- Prepare annual self-development plans and set professional goals with opportunities for achievement
- Contribute to quality and safety initiatives across the organization
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Nursing, or BSN with enrollment in a Master's program at the time of hire. If hired with a BSN and enrolled in a Master's program, you must meet with your Nurse Leader within 3 months to provide a written completion plan, submit transcripts showing required prerequisites and course timeline, and complete the Master's degree within 3 years of the start date
- Two years of progressive nursing experience in the operating room specialty
- Three months of experience serving as a preceptor
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Current RN license in Virginia or active multi-state RN license
Schedule
- Full-time, Monday through Friday, regular office hours with flexibility as needed based on department needs
