The opportunity

Job Description

The Hospitals of Providence - Sierra Campus is seeking an experienced Charge Nurse (RN) to lead and support nursing staff in the Operating Room. This full-time position offers the opportunity to drive excellence in patient care, maintain safe clinical operations, and mentor nursing team members in a dynamic surgical environment.

As Charge Nurse, you will oversee patient admissions, transfers, and discharges while providing guidance, support, and training to nursing staff. You will monitor medical charts, administer compassionate care to patients and families, and liaise with physicians and administrators to ensure quality patient outcomes. You will also communicate protocol changes to staff, ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, and maintain accurate records and reports. The role requires directing nursing staff and support personnel in accordance with their training level and patient acuity, while working cooperatively with medical providers to maintain smooth and efficient patient flow within the unit.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice as an RN as required by state law, regulation, and organizational policy
  • AHA BLS certification
  • AHA ACLS and/or PALS and/or NRP certification as applicable by corporate policy for the Operating Room unit
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or master's degree in nursing
