HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital is seeking a Charge Nurse Operating Room to serve as a Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) in our 380-bed acute-care facility. This leadership role ensures high-quality, patient-centered care and coordinates all functions in the operating room during your designated shift. You will work collaboratively with the management team to direct, monitor, and evaluate nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures, while modeling commitment to the organization's vision, mission, and values.
Clinical Setting
Lawnwood Hospital is a comprehensive acute-care facility offering a full range of services, including a highly experienced Heart Institute on the Treasure Coast with interventional and therapeutic care, including open-heart surgery. The hospital also provides labor and delivery, pediatrics, orthopedics, oncology, nuclear medicine, adult and pediatric emergency services, diagnostic services, inpatient and outpatient surgical services, and is a designated Certified Primary Stroke Center and Level II Trauma Center verified by the American College of Surgeons. The facility includes the area's only Level III Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units.
Responsibilities
- Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality, patient-centered care
- Participate in ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the operating room in collaboration with other members of the management team
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service
- Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary
- Support facility efforts to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives
- Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff
- Recommend and implement courses of action, including training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, completion of performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions to ensure a competitively better organization
- Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines
- Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Associate Degree in Nursing
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification, must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification, must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
