Join NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center as a Certified Surgical Technologist supporting the orthopedics service line in the Operating Room. This full-time evening position offers the opportunity to work at a leading academic medical center known for pioneering surgical techniques and high-acuity cases. You will function as a scrub person and circulation assistant, providing essential support to physicians and the surgical team across a wide range of orthopedic procedures.
Responsibilities
- Function as a scrub person and circulation assistant during surgical procedures
- Provide crucial support to physicians and the surgical team
- Assist in the care, preparation, and maintenance of supplies and equipment in the Operating Room
- Support orthopedic surgical procedures in a fast-paced environment
Clinical Setting
This position is based at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center, an academic medical center with a reputation for advanced surgical care, pioneering techniques, and high-acuity trauma, oncology, and neurosurgery cases.
Schedule
- Full-time position
- Hours: 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM
- Rotating weekend shifts required
- Alternating holiday shifts required
Required Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting Certification (NBSTSA), or if a new graduate, must supply exam date prior to start of employment. Certification must be obtained within six months of hire.
- Completion of a certified Surgical Technologist, Operating Room Technician, or comparable training program, or prior experience as an OR Technician/Surgical Technologist in an acute care setting
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of a six-month probationary period from date of hire
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as an OR/Surgical Tech in an acute care setting
Compensation
- Hourly rate: $39.67 to $49.57
