Certified School Nurse (PK-12) - Registered Nurse (RN)

Aveanna Healthcare is seeking a Certified School Nurse (RN) to provide nursing care to students in PK-12 school settings. In this role, you will deliver direct patient care, manage medications and treatments, perform health screenings, and maintain compliant medical records while supporting the health and wellness of the school community.

Clinical Setting

You will work in a school environment serving students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. Aveanna Healthcare is one of the largest private duty nursing companies in the nation and provides staffing opportunities for schools within local communities.

Responsibilities

• Manage medications and treatments
• Perform basic health screenings
• Manage communicable diseases
• Maintain compliant medical records
• Develop and execute care plans

Schedule

• 7:00 AM - 2:30 PM or 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
• Flexible scheduling available: full-time, part-time, or PRN
• Days, nights, and weekend shifts available based on your availability

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state where you will practice
• PK-12 School Nurse Certificate (required for school nursing roles; not required for 1:1 cases)
• Current CPR certification with hands-on component (Aveanna can assist in obtaining this requirement after hire if necessary)
• TB skin test current within the last 12 months
• Reliable transportation
• Compliance with all health-related requirements in relevant jurisdictions, including required vaccinations and testing, subject to exemptions for medical or religious reasons as appropriate
• Compact licenses must be transferred to your state of residence within 60 days

Preferred Qualifications

• Six months of prior hands-on nursing experience
