Certified School Nurse

Great Valley School District is seeking a Certified School Nurse to provide comprehensive school health services at General Wayne Elementary School. This full-time contracted position for the 2026-2027 school year focuses on assessing and managing student health needs, minimizing absences due to illness, maximizing educational opportunities, and fostering a safe and healthy school environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess and provide care for ill or injured students
• Administer first aid and manage student health needs in accordance with medical orders
• Communicate appropriate medical information to school staff and healthcare providers
• Maintain accurate health records and documentation
• Collaborate with administrators, teachers, parents/guardians, and medical professionals
• Support students with special health needs and diverse backgrounds
• Provide written and oral reports regarding school health services, issues, and concerns

Required Qualifications

• Pennsylvania School Nurse Certificate
• Registered Nurse (RN) Certificate
• Current CPR certification
• Completion of all required background checks
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, illnesses, injuries, nutrition, and treatments
• Ability to diagnose and provide nursing care to students
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions from supervisors, administrators, and physicians
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with students, staff, and families

Schedule

• Full-time contracted position for the 2026-2027 school year

Compensation and Benefits

Salary is based on education level and experience, calculated per contract agreement not to exceed step 10:

• Bachelor's degree: $64,632 to $77,190
• Bachelor's degree plus 15 credits: $69,029 to $81,490
• Master's degree: $80,174 to $91,390
• Master's degree plus 15 credits: $82,705 to $94,115
• Master's degree plus 30 credits: $85,236 to $96,840
• Master's degree plus 45 credits: $87,766 to $99,565
• Master's degree plus 60 credits: $90,297 to $102,290
• Doctorate: $92,828 to $105,015
