The opportunity

Job Description

Woodland Village Nursing Center is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to deliver routine daily nursing care to assigned residents on a PRN (as-needed) basis during day shifts. You will work as part of the nursing team, assisting with patient care in accordance with facility policies, state regulations, and established nursing care procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with personal care and activities of daily living, including bathing, personal grooming, feeding, and toileting
  • Support meal service and supplements to residents
  • Assist with resident recreation programs
  • Provide residents with help walking, exercising, and bed positioning
  • Clean resident rooms and change linens
  • Observe residents' conditions and measure and record food and liquid intake and output
  • Measure and record vital signs and report changes to professional staff
  • Assist with range of motion, turning, positioning, ambulation, and assistive devices
  • Document care provisions on designated records, maintaining detailed daily logs
  • Explain medical instructions to residents and family members
  • Assist with transporting residents to off-site treatment facilities
  • Participate as part of the medical team that examines and provides care for residents

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program
  • Valid Mississippi Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license
  • One year of experience as a nursing assistant or in a similar role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with and educate residents
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, clinical staff, and providers
  • Ability to work independently as well as lead a team
  • Ability to interpret provider or healthcare team orders and carry them out as requested
  • Resident and customer service orientation with professionalism and socio-economic and cultural sensitivity
