Job Description

Join our senior living community as a Certified Nursing Assistant and provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents. In this role, you will support residents' daily activities, maintain their dignity and independence, and help create a safe, comfortable environment where they can thrive.

Clinical Setting

This position is based in a senior living community operated by Western States Lodging & Management, a leading property management company with Legacy Senior Living communities throughout the western United States.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, and toileting
  • Assist residents with ambulation, mobility, transfers, and positioning using proper body mechanics and safety techniques
  • Take and report vital signs and communicate changes in residents' physical or emotional condition to the nursing team
  • Assist with medications as permitted by training, certification, and state regulations
  • Provide companionship, conversation, socialization, and emotional support to residents
  • Help maintain clean, safe, and organized resident rooms and care areas, including changing bed linens and assisting with light housekeeping
  • Follow care plans, company policies, safety procedures, and applicable regulations

Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent walking and standing, as well as regular bending, stooping, sitting, reaching, and other physical movement. You must be able to safely use proper body mechanics and lifting techniques to frequently lift up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift up to 100 pounds, and push or pull residents or equipment weighing more than 100 pounds for short durations, with assistance when appropriate. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals to perform the essential functions of the position.

Required Qualifications

  • Current CNA certification or successful completion of a state-approved CNA training program, as required by applicable state regulations
  • Current CPR certification
  • Strong understanding of personal safety, proper lifting techniques, and when to ask for assistance

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in senior living, healthcare, or caregiving
