The opportunity

Job Description

We are seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care in a residential setting. In this role, you will assist residents with activities of daily living, personal hygiene, mobility, and comfort while maintaining a safe and clean environment. You will work closely with nursing staff to observe residents, report changes in condition, and support their overall well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with ambulation and transfers from and to bed, toilet, chair, and stretcher
  • Assist with feeding or feed residents as indicated; serve water and nourishment
  • Offer and remove bedpans and urinals
  • Maintain cleanliness and dryness for incontinent residents; change linens and make beds; replace towels and washcloths
  • Provide bed baths, tub baths, and skin care; provide hair and oral hygiene care
  • Assist residents with dressing and undressing
  • Participate in bowel and bladder rehabilitation programs
  • Collect specimens and measure intake and output; maintain records
  • Take temperature, pulse, and respiration; prepare ice packs or other resident care equipment as directed
  • Observe residents and note physical condition, attitude, reactions, and appetite; report changes or unusual findings to the Charge Nurse
  • Maintain the aide book at the nurses station before end of shift
  • Attend regularly scheduled in-service classes as required
  • Clean equipment such as beds and stands as directed; maintain utility and service rooms
  • Provide assistance with resident care as applicable
  • Follow organizational and departmental policies and procedures
  • Report accidents or dangerous situations immediately
  • Maintain confidentiality of organizational and resident information

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year prior experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant
  • NYS Certification as a Nurse's Aide

Schedule

  • Day shift, evening shift, and night shift available

Compensation and Benefits

  • Sign-on bonus: $1,500
  • Starting rate: $21/hour, up to $22.05/hour with differential
