Certified Nursing Assistant, Surgical Oncology & Bariatrics, Full Time

Join UHealth-University of Miami Health System as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Surgical Oncology & Bariatrics. You will provide direct patient care support on Nursing 9 North in the UTower at University of Miami Hospital & Clinics, working with patients undergoing surgical oncology and bariatric procedures.

Clinical Setting

You will work in a specialized surgical unit focused on oncology and bariatric patients within an academic medical center. UHealth is South Florida's only university-based health system, providing leading-edge patient care supported by the Miller School of Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Provide patients' personal hygiene care including bedpans, urinals, baths, backrubs, shampoos, and shaves, and assist with showers
• Assist with meals and feed patients as needed
• Ambulate, turn, and position patients, and provide fresh water and nourishment between meals
• Administer enemas, douches, non-sterile dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, and heat treatments; apply therapeutic and sitz baths and restraints
• Perform sugar and acetone urine testing, specimen collection, and post-mortem care
• Answer patients' call lights and requests promptly
• Maintain a safe and attractive environment for patients and staff
• Transport patients and equipment
• Report patient conditions to the assigned nurse to ensure professional assessment
• Measure and record food and liquid intake and output
• Check and record vital signs
• Provide patient assistance with walking, exercising, and moving in and out of bed
• Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets

Schedule

Full-time position working 3 x 12-hour shifts. Days, nights, and weekends may be required.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid State of Florida CNA license
• Minimum 0-1 year of relevant experience
