Certified Nursing Assistant- PRN

Holy Cross Health is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for a PRN position in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) in Silver Spring. This role offers flexible work schedules and opportunities for advancement within the organization.

As a CNA, you will report to the unit director and work under the delegated authority of a registered nurse. You may be assigned to function in either the Nursing Assistant role or the Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) role, depending on departmental needs.

Responsibilities

When functioning in the Nursing Assistant role:

• Perform nursing functions within your scope of practice under the supervision of a registered nurse
• Assist the nurse in collecting data for nursing assessments
• Provide quality nursing care to patients
• Implement specific procedures and programs
• Coordinate work within the PACU and with other departments

When functioning in the Health Unit Coordinator role:

• Support departmental operations through effective and timely communications
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment
• Maintain data and related records
• Perform clerical and other support services as directed
• Report pertinent information to the immediate supervisor
• Respond to inquiries and requests for information
• Assist the immediate supervisor with tasks supporting department operations

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, OR four years of nursing assistant experience in lieu of a High School Diploma/GED
• Current licensure by the Maryland State Board for Certified Nursing Assistant
• BLS certification issued through the American Heart Association
• Computer and audiovisual skills using various applications and technologies including Internet, email, word processing, wireless phone, and pager
• Ability to obtain and retrieve data
• Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize
• Ability to work well with individuals and groups

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of CNA experience
• Experience in a hospital setting

Schedule

• Employment Type: PRN (as-needed)
• Shift: Evening (3pm to 11pm)
• Location: Silver Spring

Compensation

• Pay Range: $17.58 – $23.85 per hour
• Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
