As a Certified Nursing Assistant in Physical Therapy Rehabilitation, you will work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Nurse to provide routine patient care activities and support in a nursing unit. You will assist patients during admission, transfer, and discharge while maintaining a safe, comfortable environment and ensuring patient confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge procedures
- Prepare patient rooms for admission, including setting up IV poles and adjusting beds
- Ensure patient belongings accompany patients during transfers or discharge
- Safely transport stable patients as required
- Maintain security and confidentiality when transporting patients and interacting with family and visitors
- Clean, procure, and return equipment and supplies
- Replenish patient rooms with water, linen, and towels as appropriate
- Perform unit-specific patient care tasks according to the skills checklist
- Identify and promptly report obvious changes in patient condition to the nurse in charge
- Assist with ordering and maintenance of stock items according to established inventory
- Keep unit supplies organized and orderly
- Respond appropriately to emergencies
- Communicate effectively with team members during and between shifts
- Respond to phone calls and patient call lights
- Adapt patient care methods to accommodate unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, age-specific, and developmental needs
- Run errands for the unit as required
- Meet expectations of applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies
Required Qualifications
- CNA License in state of employment
- BLS certification
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Patient care experience in an acute care setting
Schedule
- 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Per Diem as needed
