Certified Nursing Assistant - Oconomowoc Med/Surg 0.6 FTE 8 hr (Nights)

Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide support to staff and patients on the Medical Surgical Unit. This is a 0.6 FTE position working 8-hour night shifts (3rd shift).

Clinical Setting

The Medical Surgical Unit comprises two distinct areas: a 24-bed Orthopedic Center of Excellence focusing on total hip, shoulder, and knee replacements, as well as orthopedic fractures; and an 11-bed medical and general surgical unit. The unit serves patients with conditions including sepsis, cardiac issues, stroke, renal disease, CHF, COPD, respiratory illnesses, appendectomy, and small bowel obstructions. Patient management may include telemetry monitoring, continuous medication infusions, wound care, and various tubes and drains. The unit is supported by approximately 60 staff members including CNAs, RNs, Unit Clerks, a Manager, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Nurse Educator, and Operations Coordinator.

Responsibilities

• Provide general nursing care and support to patients
• Work independently providing resource information to patients
• Complete clerical tasks related to regulatory annual requirements, audits, and patient processes

Required Qualifications

• Wisconsin Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification—active or expired on registry
• Strong interest in customer service
• Ability to multitask and work independently with minimal supervision
• Demonstrated compassion in patient care, including end-of-life care

Schedule

• Night shift (3rd shift), 8-hour shifts
