The opportunity

Job Description

Adventist Health Hanford is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant for the Obstetrics Acute unit. This part-time, variable shift position provides personal nursing care to obstetric patients under the direction of a licensed registered nurse. You will assist patients with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, and support the clinical team in delivering quality patient care.

Clinical Setting

Adventist Health Hanford is a 173-bed hospital located in Kings County in California's Central Valley, serving the community since 1965. The facility offers primary and specialty care services through its hospital and outpatient clinics. The region provides convenient access to Yosemite, Sequoia, and Kings Canyon National Parks within an hour's travel time.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks associated with activities of daily living, including assisting with nutrition and hydration, elimination, personal care, positioning, devices, restraints, and restorative care
  • Take vital signs including pulse and blood pressure
  • Assist patients with basic needs such as bathing, dressing, and feeding
  • Perform clerical duties including routing patient reports as appropriate
  • Use organizational and prioritization skills to support unit operations and meet deadlines
  • Provide assessment data to the certified nurse within the scope of practice, including vital signs and patient verbal and nonverbal responses
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per Adventist Health policy
  • High school education or GED or equivalent (preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Phlebotomy certification (in California and Hawaii)
  • Audiometry and vision training or certificate from CHDP (in California and Hawaii)

Schedule

  • Part-time, variable shift
