The opportunity

Job Description

St. Helena Hospital is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant for night shift, full-time work. You will provide direct personal nursing care to patients under the supervision of a licensed registered nurse, assisting with activities of daily living and routine clinical tasks in our 151-bed hospital located in Napa Valley.

Clinical Setting

St. Helena Hospital is a 151-bed facility with an emergency department and medical offices. We operate centers of excellence including the Adventist Heart and Vascular Institute, Coon Joint Replacement Institute, Martin-O'Neil Cancer Center, and Behavioral Health units.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks associated with activities of daily living, including assisting with nutrition and hydration, elimination, personal care, positioning devices, restraints, and restorative care
  • Take vital signs including pulse and blood pressure
  • Help patients with basic needs such as bathing, dressing, and feeding
  • Perform clerical duties including routing patient reports as appropriate
  • Use organizational and prioritization skills to keep the unit running smoothly and meet deadlines
  • Provide assessment data to the certified nurse within the scope of practice, including vital signs and patient verbal and nonverbal responses
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High school education or GED or equivalent (preferred)
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per Adventist Health policy

Preferred Qualifications

  • Phlebotomy certification (in CA and HI)
  • Audiometry and vision training or certificate from CHDP (in CA and HI)

  • Night shift
  • Full-time position
