Certified Nursing Assistant, Med/Surg Acute 1 (Full-time, Day Shift)

Adventist Health Reedley is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant for the Med/Surg Acute unit. In this full-time, day shift position, you will provide direct personal nursing care to patients under the supervision of a licensed registered nurse. You will assist patients with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, and help maintain a well-organized unit through clerical and organizational tasks.

Clinical Setting

Adventist Health Reedley is a 49-bed acute care hospital located in the central San Joaquin Valley of California, between the State's coastal mountain ranges and the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The facility serves the region through 60 clinics in 27 rural communities, offering primary and specialty care services.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks associated with activities of daily living, including assisting with nutrition and hydration, elimination, personal care, positioning devices, restraints, and restorative care
• Take vital signs including pulse and blood pressure
• Assist patients with basic needs such as bathing, dressing, and feeding
• Perform clerical duties, including routing patient reports as appropriate
• Use organizational and prioritization skills to keep the unit running smoothly and meet deadlines
• Provide assessment data to the certified nurse within the scope of practice, including vital signs and patient verbal and nonverbal responses
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Schedule

• Full-time, day shift

Required Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per Adventist Health policy
• High school education or GED or equivalent (preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification (in CA and HI)
• Audiometry and vision training or certificate from CHDP (in CA and HI)
