Huntington Health & Rehab Center is hiring Certified Nursing Assistants to provide direct care to residents in a long-term care and skilled nursing setting. This is a full-time or part-time position working 12-hour shifts on days or nights. PRN positions are not available.
Clinical Setting
You will work in a long-term care and skilled nursing facility providing care to seniors in a team-based environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide basic nursing care to residents under the direction of licensed nurse supervisors
- Assist residents with daily activities including bathing, grooming, hygiene, and adaptive equipment placement
- Change gowns, clothing, and linens to keep residents dry and comfortable
- Handle linens and make beds according to infection control guidelines
- Assist residents with bowel and bladder functions
- Prepare residents for and transport them to appointments, activities, and social programs
- Assist with lifting, positioning, and transporting residents into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, and lifts according to specific safety needs
- Assist residents with ambulation with or without self-help devices as instructed
- Perform restorative procedures as instructed
- Measure and record heights, weights, temperatures, pulses, respirations, and blood pressures as instructed
- Empty urinary drainage bags, record amounts, and report irregularities to the nurse
- Ensure call lights are within reach and answer them promptly
- Check frequently on residents unable to call for help
- Report all changes in residents' condition to supervisors promptly
- Maintain cleanliness of resident units, bathing areas, treatment and supply rooms, workrooms, and linen closets
- Clean bedpans, urinals, commodes, basins, and bathtubs according to sanitation standards
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in good standing in West Virginia
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds; physical work is a primary part of the job
- Ability to stand, bend, and walk for extended time periods
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in long-term care or senior living
