We are seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide direct patient care in a residential setting. In this role, you will assist residents with activities of daily living, personal hygiene, mobility, and comfort while maintaining a professional attitude and ensuring resident safety and dignity.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with ambulation and transfers to and from bed, toilet, chair, and stretcher
- Assist with feeding residents and serve water and nourishment as indicated
- Offer and remove bedpans and urinals
- Maintain cleanliness and dryness for incontinent residents; change linens and make beds
- Replace towels and washcloths
- Provide bed baths, tub baths, and skin care
- Provide hair care and oral hygiene assistance
- Assist residents with dressing and undressing
- Participate in bowel and bladder rehabilitation programs
- Collect specimens and measure intake and output; maintain accurate records
- Take temperature, pulse, and respiration readings
- Prepare ice packs and other resident care equipment as directed by nursing staff
- Observe residents and report physical condition, attitude, reactions, appetite changes, and unusual findings to the Charge Nurse
- Report resident complaints to nursing staff or supervisors
- Sign the aide book at the end of each shift
- Attend regularly scheduled in-service classes as required
- Clean equipment such as beds and stands as directed
- Maintain utility and service rooms in order
- Follow all organizational, departmental, safety, security, and fire procedures
- Report accidents or dangerous situations immediately
- Maintain confidentiality of organizational and resident information
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year prior experience as a nursing assistant or in a similar role
- NYS Certification as a Nurse's Aide (must have)
