The opportunity

Job Description

Watertown Health Care Center is seeking Certified Nursing Assistants to provide direct patient care in a long-term care setting. As a CNA, you will be the first point of contact with residents and families, delivering compassionate care while maintaining each resident's dignity, privacy, and comfort. You will work AM shifts with flexible 8-hour scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living including grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, toileting, and dressing
  • Provide incontinent care, colostomy care, and assistance with prosthetic appliances
  • Help residents with transferring, ambulation, and range of motion exercises
  • Maintain resident comfort and skin integrity by changing incontinent residents, turning and repositioning immobile residents, and applying moisturizers to fragile skin to prevent pressure ulcers and skin tears
  • Answer resident call bells promptly and courteously
  • Lift, move, and transport residents using proper body mechanics or lifting devices
  • Protect and account for residents' personal belongings including eyeglasses, dentures, hearing aids, jewelry, clothing, and memorabilia
  • Communicate with residents in a manner that displays warmth and promotes a caring environment
  • Understand and uphold all aspects of residents' rights, including freedom from restraints and abuse
  • Promptly report to the charge nurse or administrative staff any incidents or evidence of resident abuse or violation of residents' rights
  • Report missing items according to established policy and participate in efforts to locate them
  • Complete certified nursing assistant records documenting care provided

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of a state-approved Nursing Assistant Certification course or equivalent education meeting state certification requirements
  • Current Nursing Assistant Certification in Wisconsin or eligibility to obtain certification

  • AM shifts available
  • Flexible 8-hour shifts
