Villa at Willow Place is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join their healthcare team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive and personalized support to patients and residents under the supervision of a nurse, helping them maintain dignity and quality of life through assistance with daily activities and personal care.
This is a full-time, collectively bargained union position.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients and residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, eating, grooming, toileting, and exercising
- Provide physical support for transfers to and from bed, walking, and standing
- Turn and reposition bedridden patients
- Ensure proper resident and patient diet based on dietary restrictions
- Measure and record food and liquid intake
- Examine patients for open wounds, bruises, or blood in urine
- Note and communicate patient and resident behavior and changes in mood to nursing staff
- Check and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate under the supervision of a licensed nurse
- Gather medical supplies
- Clean rooms and bed linens
- Answer patient calls and respond to resident needs
- Assist patients being transported to and from appointments
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- State Certified Nursing Assistant License or Certification
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Meet all health requirements as required by law
- Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and facility staff
- Good collaboration and teamwork skills with nursing staff
- Familiarity with symptoms and signs of improvement for a number of medical conditions
- Basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications
Preferred Qualifications
- Current CPR certificate (or ability to become certified within 90 days of employment)
Physical Requirements
- Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling
- Ability to distinguish smells and temperatures
- Ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet
- Ability to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet
- May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations
- Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards; understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required
