The opportunity

Job Description

Villa at Willow Place is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join their healthcare team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive and personalized support to patients and residents under the supervision of a nurse, helping them maintain dignity and quality of life through assistance with daily activities and personal care.

This is a full-time, collectively bargained union position.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients and residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, eating, grooming, toileting, and exercising
  • Provide physical support for transfers to and from bed, walking, and standing
  • Turn and reposition bedridden patients
  • Ensure proper resident and patient diet based on dietary restrictions
  • Measure and record food and liquid intake
  • Examine patients for open wounds, bruises, or blood in urine
  • Note and communicate patient and resident behavior and changes in mood to nursing staff
  • Check and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate under the supervision of a licensed nurse
  • Gather medical supplies
  • Clean rooms and bed linens
  • Answer patient calls and respond to resident needs
  • Assist patients being transported to and from appointments
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • State Certified Nursing Assistant License or Certification
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Meet all health requirements as required by law
  • Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and facility staff
  • Good collaboration and teamwork skills with nursing staff
  • Familiarity with symptoms and signs of improvement for a number of medical conditions
  • Basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current CPR certificate (or ability to become certified within 90 days of employment)

Physical Requirements

  • Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling
  • Ability to distinguish smells and temperatures
  • Ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet
  • Ability to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet
  • May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations
  • Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards; understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required
