Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Loomis Communities is seeking Certified Nursing Assistants to provide direct patient care in our nursing centers. This position offers flexible scheduling options including per diem, part-time, and full-time roles. You will work under the supervision of licensed nurses to support residents' physical comfort, safety, and mental wellbeing through person-centered care approaches.

Clinical Setting

You will work in Loomis Communities Nursing Centers, providing care to residents in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, facility policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living while offering meaningful choices and person-centered care approaches
• Take and record vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiratory rate, and blood pressure
• Monitor and record fluid intake and output
• Weigh residents and observe, report signs, symptoms, reactions, and changes to resident condition
• Use appropriate assistive devices and body mechanics to promote healthy living for staff and residents
• Maintain a neat and clean environment in compliance with safety regulations and infection control standards
• Transport patients and supplies as needed
• Document observations and care provided
• Participate in committees and education opportunities
• Comply with resident rights and confidentiality standards
• Comply with CARF/CCAC, OSHA, DPH, and other survey and inspection guidelines
• Complete mandatory training programs
• Perform general maintenance of the patient environment
• Demonstrate awareness of and respect for diversity among residents, personnel, families, and other stakeholders

Required Qualifications

• Completion of a state-certified nurse aide training program with a certificate in good standing
• Basic CPR certification
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Ability to relate well to all residents, including those who are emotionally upset
• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the public
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
• Ability to report to work regularly and promptly
• Ability to work beyond normal hours when necessary
