This position provides essential support in the care of geriatric residents in a long-term care setting. As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will assist residents with daily living activities, personal care, and medical equipment operation while monitoring their physical and mental status.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with ambulation, eating, bathing, dressing, and other activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Operate and assist with medical equipment, including geri-chairs, wheelchairs, and oxygen regulators
- Monitor residents' physical and mental status and take vital signs
- Manage specimens and maintain cleanliness and sanitation of resident areas
- Change bedding and handle linens and medical supplies
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff, documenting and responding to requests and concerns
- Support nursing staff with medical procedures and post-surgical care while following universal precautions
- Participate in training and multi-disciplinary meetings for patient care planning and skill development
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Current CNA license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
