Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Prometheus Federal Services is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for an on-site position at the Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System in Palo Alto, California. In this role, you will provide direct patient care in a state-of-the-art medical treatment facility, working alongside physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare team members to deliver safe, compassionate care that meets or exceeds current national standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including feeding, grooming, bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Provide basic physical and emotional care to patients with simple to complex needs
• Interface with patients, physicians, nursing staff, VA employees, and family members
• Implement the plan of care in partnership with the healthcare team
• Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, including use of stretchers, wheelchairs, and other mobility devices
• Provide patient and family teaching
• Care for and properly use medical equipment
• Document care accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and VA policies
• Follow all established patient safety and infection control standards
• Adhere to all VA policies, procedures, and professional standards of care
• Attend staff meetings as required
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant training course
• Active, unrestricted CNA license in California
• Active BLS (Basic Life Support) card
• Ability to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently
• Authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorship
• Ability to obtain public trust clearance
