Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Pavilion of Bridgeview is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide direct patient care in a long and short-term skilled nursing facility. Working under the supervision of the Director of Nursing or CNA Supervisor, you will assist patients and residents with activities of daily living and support the nursing staff in delivering coordinated, personalized care.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients and residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, toileting, and exercising
• Provide physical support for transferring patients to and from bed, walking, and standing
• Turn and reposition bedridden patients
• Ensure proper resident diet based on dietary restrictions
• Measure and record food and liquid intake
• Examine patients for open wounds, bruises, or blood in urine
• Note and communicate patient behavior and changes in mood to nursing staff
• Check and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate under the supervision of a licensed nurse
• Gather medical supplies and clean rooms and bed linens
• Answer patient calls and respond to resident needs
• Assist patients being transported to and from appointments
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• State Certified Nursing Assistant License/Certification
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Ability to meet all health requirements as required by law
• Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and facility staff
• Basic computer knowledge and ability with aptitude to learn company applications

Preferred Qualifications

• Current CPR certificate (or ability to become certified within 90 days of employment)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk, reach, bend, lift, sit for extended periods, grasp, perform fine hand coordination, push and pull, distinguish smells and temperatures, with or without mechanical aids
• Ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet
• Ability to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet
• May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations
• Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards; understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required
