Meadow View Rehabilitation and Healthcare is seeking Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to provide direct, hands-on care to residents in a skilled nursing facility specializing in short-stay rehabilitation and long-term care. The CNA will assist nurses and support the nursing team in delivering quality care while helping residents attain or maintain the highest possible physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
Clinical Setting
Meadow View is a rehabilitation and long-term care facility focused on quality care in a supportive environment. You will work with residents requiring varying levels of assistance with activities of daily living and mobility.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct assistance with activities of daily living (ADL) including bathing, grooming, dressing, and meals
- Document vital signs, weight, meal intake, bowel and bladder function, and other clinical observations
- Assist with restorative nursing duties
- Answer call lights promptly and respond to resident requests courteously
- Perform CNA skills as assigned
- Ambulate or assist residents in ambulation
- Transfer or assist residents from bed to chair, chair to toilet, and other transfers using proper techniques and mechanical lifts when required
- Bathe, dress, and toilet residents requiring assistance
- Assist with personal hygiene tasks including brushing teeth, combing hair, and shaving
- Change bed linens and towels according to facility schedule
- Turn and position residents unable to turn independently
- Serve resident food as required
- Measure and record temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, weight, and height as instructed
- Report any problems or changes in resident medical condition to the supervisor immediately
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information and respect resident privacy
- Observe and adhere to all facility safety policies and procedures
- Identify safety hazards and emergency situations and help initiate corrective action
- Follow isolation techniques and infection control procedures
- Document care provided in the medical record
- Perform daily housekeeping duties in resident rooms including picking up trash, straightening bedside tables, and cleaning spills
- Load and push clean and soiled laundry carts
- Lift and carry supplies
- Restock supplies for the next shift
- Drive facility vehicles to transport residents to doctor's appointments
- Respond calmly and professionally to emergencies and stressful situations
- Attend in-service programs and staff meetings when scheduled
- Help mentor new CNAs
- Work independently and flexibly across all facility areas as needed
- Correctly complete required ADL tracking
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited CNA course
- Valid Pennsylvania CNA certification
- Demonstrated experience within a skilled nursing facility with proof of such experience
Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk around the facility for extensive periods of time
- Lift residents as required; use mechanical lift when required
- Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Hear, see, and respond to emergency call lights promptly
- React calmly and effectively in stressful situations
- Practice safe work habits
Schedule and Availability
- Full-time, part-time, PRN, and weekend warrior positions available
- Shifts available: 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am
