Mason Pointe is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide compassionate daily supportive and functional care to residents on the night shift. You will work as a collaborative member of an interdisciplinary team focused on person-centered care, assisting residents with activities of daily living while maintaining their dignity and comfort.
Responsibilities
- Maintain residents' comfort and provide physical care with activities of daily living according to scope of practice
- Answer resident call lights and requests promptly
- Report observations of residents' conditions and needs to the nurse
- Handle residents' personal care needs in a timely manner, encouraging independence when possible
- Observe residents closely to identify changing needs and conditions
- Actively participate in residents' care and service plans
- Assist residents during mealtimes and provide full feeding assistance when needed
- Create and maintain meaningful relationships with residents and their families
- Support residents' involvement in decision-making regarding their daily activities
- Assist with residents' therapies and treatments under the direction of licensed staff
- Document care provided in clinical records
- Maintain a clean and safe environment
Required Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (Missouri, Illinois, or Pennsylvania)
- For Pennsylvania: Enrollment or eligibility for enrollment within 120 days of completion of a Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation program on the Pennsylvania nurse aide registry
- Ability to communicate with residents
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with direct patient or resident care
Physical Requirements
- Regularly stand, walk, use hands to touch and handle objects, and talk and hear
- Frequently sit, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Occasionally climb, balance, taste, or smell
- Lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull 45 lbs
Working Conditions
- Night shift position, part-time
- Well-lighted, ventilated work area with temperature control
- May be subject to emotionally upset residents or family members
- May be required to work beyond normal hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary
- Potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, infectious waste, and communicable diseases including AIDS and Hepatitis B virus
- Appropriate ergonomic and personal safety equipment provided as needed
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay grade 09: $16.20 to $25.15 per hour
- Shift differentials: $1.50/hour evenings, $1.00/hour nights, $1.00/hour weekends (Illinois and Missouri; may vary in other states)
