The opportunity

Job Description

Mason Pointe is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide compassionate daily supportive and functional care to residents on the night shift. You will work as a collaborative member of an interdisciplinary team focused on person-centered care, assisting residents with activities of daily living while maintaining their dignity and comfort.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain residents' comfort and provide physical care with activities of daily living according to scope of practice
  • Answer resident call lights and requests promptly
  • Report observations of residents' conditions and needs to the nurse
  • Handle residents' personal care needs in a timely manner, encouraging independence when possible
  • Observe residents closely to identify changing needs and conditions
  • Actively participate in residents' care and service plans
  • Assist residents during mealtimes and provide full feeding assistance when needed
  • Create and maintain meaningful relationships with residents and their families
  • Support residents' involvement in decision-making regarding their daily activities
  • Assist with residents' therapies and treatments under the direction of licensed staff
  • Document care provided in clinical records
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment

Required Qualifications

  • Current CNA certification (Missouri, Illinois, or Pennsylvania)
  • For Pennsylvania: Enrollment or eligibility for enrollment within 120 days of completion of a Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation program on the Pennsylvania nurse aide registry
  • Ability to communicate with residents

  • Prior experience with direct patient or resident care

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly stand, walk, use hands to touch and handle objects, and talk and hear
  • Frequently sit, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Occasionally climb, balance, taste, or smell
  • Lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull 45 lbs

Working Conditions

  • Night shift position, part-time
  • Well-lighted, ventilated work area with temperature control
  • May be subject to emotionally upset residents or family members
  • May be required to work beyond normal hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary
  • Potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, infectious waste, and communicable diseases including AIDS and Hepatitis B virus
  • Appropriate ergonomic and personal safety equipment provided as needed

Compensation and Benefits

  • Pay grade 09: $16.20 to $25.15 per hour
  • Shift differentials: $1.50/hour evenings, $1.00/hour nights, $1.00/hour weekends (Illinois and Missouri; may vary in other states)
