Maple Ridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare is seeking Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) to provide direct, hands-on care to residents in our skilled nursing facility. You will work with residents in both short-stay rehabilitation and long-term care settings, assisting them to attain or maintain the highest possible physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
Clinical Setting
Maple Ridge is a rehabilitation and long-term care facility focused on quality care in a supportive environment. You will work with residents requiring varying levels of assistance with activities of daily living and mobility.
Responsibilities
- Assist nurses by providing activities of daily living (ADL) services including bathing, grooming, dressing, and meal assistance
- Document vital signs, weight, meal intake, bowel and bladder function, and other clinical observations
- Assist with restorative nursing duties
- Answer call lights promptly and respond to resident requests courteously
- Perform CNA skills as assigned
- Ambulate or assist in ambulation of residents
- Transfer or assist in transfer of residents from bed to chair, chair to toilet, and other locations; use mechanical lift when required
- Lift residents as required
- Assist with or perform personal hygiene tasks including brushing teeth, combing hair, and shaving
- Change bed linens and towels per facility schedule
- Turn and position residents unable to turn independently
- Serve resident food as required
- Measure and record temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, weight, and height as instructed
- Report any problems identified by residents or family members to supervisor
- Report any identified changes in resident's medical condition to supervisor
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information and respect resident privacy
- Observe and adhere to all facility safety policies and procedures
- Identify safety hazards and emergency situations and help initiate corrective action
- Respond calmly and professionally to emergencies
- Follow isolation techniques and observe infection control procedures
- Document care provided in medical record
- Correctly complete required ADL tracking
- Attend in-service programs and staff meetings when scheduled
- Follow daily job assignments
- Perform daily housekeeping duties in resident rooms including picking up trash, straightening bedside tables, and cleaning spills
- Load and push clean and soiled laundry carts
- Lift and carry supplies
- Restock supplies for the next shift
- Pass ice water to residents
- Drive facility vehicle to take residents to doctor's appointments
- Work independently and flexibly across all facility areas as needed
- Help mentor new CNAs
- Always leave residents in a safe environment
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited CNA course
- Valid Pennsylvania state CNA certification
- Demonstrated experience within a skilled nursing facility with ability to provide proof of such experience
Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk around facility for extensive periods of time
- Lift and carry supplies and residents as required
- React calmly and effectively in stressful situations
- Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Hear, see, and respond to emergency call lights promptly
Schedule and Availability
- Full-time, part-time, PRN, and weekend warrior positions available
- Shifts available: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM
