Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Inpatient Rehab

This Nursing Assistant I position supports an accredited inpatient rehabilitation unit serving patients recovering from complex medical conditions and injuries. The unit operates two specialized programs: an Acute Brain Injury Program (10 beds) focused on traumatic brain injuries and neurological conditions, and a General Rehabilitation Program (19 beds) serving patients with orthopedic, cardiac, burns, and multi-trauma needs. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team of nurses, therapists, and physicians delivering personalized treatment plans that promote healing and restore function.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse
• Perform special procedures correctly under RN direction
• Create and maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, yourself, co-workers, and the facility
• Ensure complete, accurate, and timely communication of patient information
• Communicate effectively, positively, and professionally with the team, co-workers, patients, and family members
• Provide age and developmentally appropriate patient care in accordance with facility guidelines
• Take personal responsibility for performance, professional growth, and development

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Completion of an applicable State Approved Nurse Aide I course
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to perform effectively with frequent workload changes and competing demands
• Basic computer skills

Work Environment

• Regular contact with patients, family members, visitors, co-workers, and medical staff under a wide variety of circumstances
• Regular exposure to blood-borne diseases, infectious and contagious diseases
• Subject to multiple interruptions
• Occasional exposure to radiation hazards and cleaning agents/chemicals
• Occasionally subject to irregular hours
• Use of personal protective equipment required
