Join the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) providing compassionate, person-centered care to residents in a long-term nursing facility. In this part-time role, you will assist residents with activities of daily living, ensure safety and quality of care, and help residents achieve their highest functional capabilities in an environment that promotes caring, respect, and values the individual.
Clinical Setting
You will work at the Minnesota Veterans Home-Luverne, a long-term care facility serving veterans. The environment emphasizes person-centered care and resident dignity.
Responsibilities

Schedule
This is a part-time position with varying days of work. You are expected to work every other weekend. Vacancies may be available on the following shifts:
- Day Shift: 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM
- Evening Shift: 2:45 PM - 11:15 PM
- Night Shift: 10:45 PM - 7:15 AM
Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $21.59 - $28.94 per hour
- Shift Differential: $2.25 per hour for all hours worked after 6:00 PM and before 6:00 AM
- New Hire Bonus: $2,500 if hired in this part-time AFSCME-covered position
Required Qualifications
- Current registration as a Nursing Assistant with the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) Nursing Assistant Registry, OR
- At time of hire, enrollment in an approved Nursing Assistant training course with completion and competency test passage within four months of hire, OR
- At time of hire, completion of a Nursing Assistant training and competency evaluation program approved by Minnesota (not yet on Registry). Must provide fax back score report indicating passage of both skills and written portions of the test. Must become registered within four months of hire.
- Must be 18 years of age
- Ability to communicate effectively, follow instructions, and take clear notes
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working as a certified nursing assistant
- Experience providing activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Experience working in a long-term care environment
Additional Requirements
- Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check may be conducted on finalists; must pass if conducted
- Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening or chest X-ray required prior to employment
- Employment reference checks will be conducted on finalists, including review of job performance documentation and contact with former employers
