Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Human Services Technician (HST) - Part Time NIght Shift Position

Join the Minnesota Veterans Home in Fergus Falls as a Certified Nursing Assistant providing compassionate, person-centered care to residents in a long-term nursing facility. In this part-time night shift position, you will assist residents with activities of daily living, ensure safety and quality of care, and help residents achieve their highest functional capabilities in an environment that promotes caring, respect, and values the individual.

Clinical Setting

You will work at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Fergus Falls, a long-term care facility serving veterans. The position is part of the Nursing division and operates within a person-centered care model.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Ensure resident safety and quality of care
• Help residents attain their highest functional capabilities
• Communicate effectively with the care team and document care provided
• Follow instructions and maintain clear notes on resident care

Schedule

This is a part-time position with a night shift schedule of 10:45 PM to 7:15 AM. The work schedule will include at least 64 hours per two-week pay period and may include additional hours based on business needs. Weekends are assigned primarily on the night shift. Days of work vary.

Required Qualifications

• Current registration as a Nursing Assistant with the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) Nursing Assistant Registry
• Ability to communicate effectively, follow instructions, and take clear notes

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience providing activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Experience working in a long-term care environment
• Experience working as a certified nursing assistant

Additional Requirements

• Successful completion of a Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check
• Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening or chest X-ray prior to employment
• Employment reference checks, which may include review of documentation related to job performance and contact with former employers

Compensation

Hourly wage: $21.59 to $28.94, plus a $2.25 per hour shift differential for all hours worked after 6:00 PM and before 6:00 AM. New hire bonus of $2,500 may be available.
