Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Human Services Technician (HST), Part-Time, Evening Shift

Join the Minnesota Veterans Home - Fergus Falls as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) providing compassionate, person-centered care to residents in a long-term nursing facility. In this part-time evening shift position, you will assist residents with activities of daily living, ensure safety and quality of care, and help residents achieve their highest functional capabilities in an environment that promotes caring, respect, and values the individual.

Clinical Setting

You will work in a long-term care nursing facility serving veterans. The environment is designed to promote caring, respect, and individual dignity.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Ensure resident safety and quality of care
• Help residents attain their highest functional capabilities
• Communicate effectively with the care team and document care provided

Schedule

This is a part-time position working the evening shift from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM. You will work every other weekend as assigned, with a minimum of 16 hours per two-week pay period. Days of work vary.

Required Qualifications

• Current registration as a Nursing Assistant with the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) Nursing Assistant Registry
• Ability to communicate effectively, follow instructions, and take clear notes

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience providing activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Experience working in a long-term care environment

Additional Requirements

• Successful completion of a Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check
• Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening or chest x-ray prior to employment
• Employment reference checks will be conducted on all finalists

Compensation

Hourly rate: $21.59 - $28.94

Additional Information

This position is classified and part of Bargaining Unit 218 (Insufficient Work Time/Unrep). It is designated in the Connect 700 Program for Applicants with Disabilities. No travel is required, and telework is not eligible for this position.
